August 2006 ~ As a result a cooperative effort between the Forest Service, Idaho Panhandle National Forest and Avista Utilities, the Wild Rose Foundation provided funding to install a concrete plank ford crossing at the East Fork of Lightning Creek, giving vehicles a safe place to cross and thereby improving the water quality and fish habitat.
